ABOUT US
In 1954, Letizia Sacco at age 24, won a lottery drawing to immigrate from Lago, Italy to the United States. After moving to America, Letizia met Dominick "Domenico" Cucchiara through mutual friends and married shortly after.
Dominick and Letizia worked several food service jobs until they bought P&G Italian Deli on Park Street in Alameda, California in 1966. They retired and sold P&G in 1979, however, it wasn’t long until they put their aprons back on and returned from retirement to open Domenico’s Italian Deli. They opened the deli on Webster Street in Alameda in 1982 in the same location it stands today. |

Dominick and Letizia’s daughter Ann and her husband, Andy Murphy, assumed ownership of Domenico's in 1989 when Dominick and Letizia decided to retire for the second and final time. Andy and Ann continued to operate the deli under the Domenico’s name and continued to serve all the sandwiches and recipes developed by Ann’s parents. Their children also played a large role in the deli, spending a lot of their childhood either helping out or working to continue the family business.
In 2010, Andy and Ann’s youngest son, Jeff, moved to Murfreesboro on a football scholarship to MTSU. While playing football and attending school, he met local Scarlett Lanning and fell in love. They married in 2013 and decided Murfreesboro would continue to be their home. After working for many years with Mike Lanning, Scarlett’s father, Jeff decided it was time to venture out on his own and bring his family’s restaurant to Middle Tennessee. With the Murfreesboro location, Jeff plans to share the same great Italian “sangwiches” and family atmosphere his grandparents developed so long ago. After nearly 40 years of success in the bay area, Domenico’s Deli is still owned and operated by Ann and her two sons. Jeff wants to continue that tradition and as a 3rd generation owner, he hopes Domenico’s will become a staple in the Murfreesboro area and provide quality sandwiches for decades to come. |
