Our Story

In 1954, Letizia Sacco at age 24, won a lottery drawing to immigrate from Lago, Italy to the United States. After moving to America, Letizia met Dominick "Domenico" Cucchiara through mutual friends and married shortly after.

Dominick and Letizia worked several food service jobs until they bought P&G Italian Deli on Park Street in Alameda, California in 1966. They retired and sold P&G in 1979, however, it wasn't long until they put their aprons back on and returned from retirement to open Domenico's Italian Deli. They opened the deli on Webster Street in Alameda in 1982 in the same location it stands today.
